July 13, 2016 - The Love of the Father

July 13th, 2016 - Thoughts for your Week

Scripture Verse

Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Psalm 103: 2-5

The Love of the Father

Do you really believe in the love of the Father? Do you believe that He gave you freedom through the sacrifice of His own Son? Do you believe that you have been spared? Do you believe that He has mercy over you? If you struggle with this, take a moment now and ask him to show you if there are any false beliefs or obstacles that are preventing you from experiencing a deeper relationship with Him. Trust what He brings to mind and pray about it. He wants you to live in the freedom of your salvation, to be made whole.

“Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.”
Isaiah 54:10

“He tends His flock like a shepherd; He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart; He gently leads those that have young.”
Isaiah 40:11

Be assured that the same God who walked with Moses, Joshua, Elijah, Peter, James, John, Paul and many others in the bible lives within you! The God who blessed them is just as capable of working out His purposes in your life.
Henry Blackaby

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8: 35, 37-39

What you do reveals what you believe.
Are you living life like you BELIEVE that Jesus died for you? That He rose again for you? That He has gone to prepare a place for you? And that He loves you with all His heart and longs to know you and be known by you?
What do you believe?

“One of the most common tactics of the devil is tempting us towards what is good and having us believe that it is best (that we shouldn’t expect any more from God). This is the error of Martha, worried and anxious about many things and missing Jesus in that good work.”
Norm Funk (Luke 10:38-42)

If God loves us like He promises, then we can expect and hope that He wants more for us. We can move forward in all confidence that He will work out His purposes in our lives. If you are struggling today, guard yourself up in the truth of the scriptures and trust in the love of your Heavenly Father who will do what He says.

What are you distracted by? Are you struggling with fears, fatigue, anger, lack of direction and wondering where is this God who promises me life? He is with you, waiting for you to seek Him with your whole heart. To stop with the busyness of your life and just sit awhile in His presence. To refrain from speaking at Him, and instead turn a listening ear to Him.

Don’t be satisfied with where you are – crave more of Him. Go deeper with Him. Seek Him until you find Him. He will never disappoint you.
